We didn't particularly set out to stay at Oliver's Camp in Tarangire National Park, it kinda ended up on our itinerary after asking if the accommodation we had (cabins) could be replaced for luxury tents.
The tents are luxurious but feel more like cabins than tents.
Before heading off on our trip we looked up Oliver's on Tripadvisor and had a good giggle with one of the reviews complaining about the proximity to the wildlife in their shower.....who doesn't love a good outside shower?
Our problem with staying at Oliver's is that we only had a very short time here (6 pm to about 7 am the next day) and couldn't really enjoy everything they had to offer that much.
When we arrived we did get to enjoy some time around the campfire that did make you feel like you were in the middle of nowhere (which you kinda were).
All meals were served outdoors in the common area at a big table which was a great way to meet fellow travelers and here their stories.
All in all I would only recommend Oliver's Camp if you had a few days in Tarangire. If you are going to be like we were only overnighting find somewhere else.
