La Renaissance Patisserie, The Rocks, Sydney

July 2014

La Renaissance Patisserie is located in The Rocks district in Sydney.

It's one of those places that usually has a long line outside, but it was a very quite Saturday and I decided to try some of the delights inside.

The cabinet is very tempting, but what really caught my eye was the croissants.

I couldn't decide so tried one of the almond and one of the chocolate

To be honest they were over rated, and while reasonably priced for the area I don't think I'll be going back in a hurry.

Sydney Bucket List: Sydney Harbour Bridge

July 2014

I'm slowly ticking activities off my Sydney Bucket List (and adding new ones along the way), but I had an 18K training run for an upcoming half marathon and decided to run over the Harbour Bridge, achieving two things at once.

I was approaching from the North side and if you come out at Milsons Point train station the signs are clear.

You get glimpses of the harbour, including the Opera House, just make sure you zoom to get a clear shot.

I don't think as Sydney siders we appreciate the architectural feat that is the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and the pylons are always a spectacular sight.

This is the middle of winter and while busy, it definitely wasn't packed.

The approach from The Rocks side is a bit harder to find, but look for the bright blue sign.

PappaRich, Malaysian Delights, Chatswood, Sydney

July 2014

My sister and I ventured into Chatswood again for the second Malaysian meal in so many weeks, this time at PappaRich.

Located between the Westfield and the Chatswood Chase its in a little bit of a strange spot, but easy enough to find.

When we arrived just after noon on a Sunday there was no line but it was busy, by time we left an hour later they were lined outside the door. Hint, get there early!

Similar to Miss Chu, you order on a sheet yourself and then press a button and a waiter arrives to take it away. The food arrives quickly afterwards so no mistakes when ordering!

Iced Honey and Lemon $3.95

Lychee Soda $4.95

Dry Koay Teow with Steamed Chicken $13.50

Biryani Rice with Red Chicken and Sambal Prawns $13.50

The red chicken was my favourite dish and I wish I had ordered a spare serving for later!

Side of Sambal Eggplant $5.50

My biggest disappointment is that we didn't order Roti....but we already had to much food and it was a wise choice.
